Sabre II Snoot
This snoot fits the Sabre II. The snoot should be used when deploying the Sabre II for long term camera trapping. Specifically, when rain is expected or the Sabre II is looking towards the sun.
The snoot has two purposes, the first and most important is to keep water drops from forming on the LIDAR lens of the Sabre II. Water droplets that get on the LIDAR lens act as an additional and unwanted lens that can cause the Sabre II to false trigger. The second purpose of the Snoot is to minimize the angle of direct sunlight shining into the LIDAR lens - direct sunlight will affect the maximum range of the Sabre II. This change in range can cause false triggers if the Sabre is configured to look past 3m. As witih all camera trapping sensors it is best to place the Sabre II with its back to the sun as often as possible.
