-DISCONTINUED- The insect rig has been discontinued but if you are interested in capturing insects in flight you can still set up a platform of your own with the StopShot Cross Beam Kit and the High Speed Shutter.  We are also seeing more wide spread use of a single beam used with a flight chamber to capture insects in flight.  You can find an example here.

The insect rig is a portable system that makes high speed photography portable. It carries (but does not include):

• StopShot Controller with Laser Cross Beam Sensors
• High Speed Shutter and controller mounted to the Shutter Support System
• Camera and two speedlight flashes
• Li-Ion Battery Pack to power the entire rig

The Insect Rig comes completely pre-wired including hot shoes for the flashes. It also includes on board switches for system power and camera shutter enable.

The High Speed Shutter Support System needs to be purchased separately
